About the event
Cross-cultural conversations carry the risk of unintentionally causing harm, which can lead some people to avoid dialogue altogether or rely on rigid notions of “political correctness.” This workshop explores what microaggressions are, why they occur, and how they impact individuals and workplace culture. Participants also examine common reactions to microaggressions and the emotional, psychological, and physical toll these experiences can take on a person’s overall well-being.
Objectives—Participants will:
Learn three types of microaggressions.
Improve their ability to identify microaggressions when they occur.
Understand the impact of microaggressions on individuals’ daily lives.
